1. Taxi Driver

According to the BLS, a taxi driver earns a median annual wage of $22,840. In larger metropolitan areas taxi drivers can make more than $40,000 annually plus cash tips that can exceed $10,000 per year.  

The only downside is becoming a taxi driver is a time-consuming process, especially in New York.

  • You need Valid New York State DMV Chauffeur’s license
  • Finished a defensive driving course

2. Chauffeur

If you’re a fanatic for luxurious cars, becoming a chauffeur be the right career for you.

Indeed, it doesn’t pay much, but depending on your skills, client, and experience,  a chauffeur can make more money than meets the eye.

You can expect a salary of $25,000 annually, plus tips.  Pizza Delivery drivers can make nearly $70 in tips in an average shift.

This is one of the most relaxing and flexible jobs out there as you can choose to work either part-time or full-time as a pizza delivery driver.

4. Delivery Driver

More and more people are shopping online and ordering packages from companies like Amazon or Walmart. As a result, the number of people needed to deliver these packages keeps growing.

Many companies are having a hard time finding enough people to take these local driving jobs. The average salary is now close to $60,000 and includes full benefits. You can become a delivery driver after a training course that is only 7 weeks long.

5. School Bus Driver

If you like driving but also want time off to do other things, then being a school bus driver will suit you.

As a school bus driver, you can earn a median annual wage of $28,330.  You also work part-time when the school is in session.

To qualify for this job, you need to be good with kids, own a driving license, and have a First Aid and CPR training (doesn’t apply to all states).

Because you’re dealing with kids, you need a clean driving record and patience.

6. Stunt Driver

If you want high paying driving jobs, consider taking a stunt driving course.

Making it to the A-list won’t be easy, but if you succeed, you will never run out of work.  With many documentaries, series, and movies being released every year, wrecking cars or doing weird spins will be required every single day.

Besides attending a stunt driving school, you need to be physically fit and healthy.

7. Tow Truck Driver

You can start your own business as an independent tow truck driver. The amount of money you’ll make will depend on how well you market your service and your driving ability.

Besides hauling cars with mechanical problems or those in accidents, you can become a repossession agent.

As an employee you’ll receive decent pay, considering the risks involved. Sometimes you get to tow some amazing classics and rarities.  However, the schedule can be difficult as you get called at whatever time of day an accident happens.

9. City Bus Driver

Becoming a City bus driver can earn you a median average salary of $38,750 annually, says BLS.  Nearly 25 percent of the city bus drivers make $48,810 and above.  If you live in a big city, then this job will suit you.
